let me tell you this release is a joy, start to finish. I hope this translates but there’s a vibe you find at really great blues performances. Sometimes these do not translate to the studio. Not the case here, if you know what I am talking about you’ll already be a little excited about this CD.
The CD starts off with a jump/Rock & Roll tune “Got That Right”. Dance floor or chair dance, this is an ass shaker! Track 2 is a scorching cover of the great Skip James song “Hard Times Killing Floor Blues”, just superbly done. Next up are originals Half A Mind, a slow blues guitar scorcher and rock guitar blues thumper Get Along. Track 5, a great interpretation of “In My Time of Dying”. Followed by the original tune “Roses”. The CD finishes off with a great cover of the Robert Petway tune Catfish.
Top to bottom this is a great listen and I highly recommend. Matt is one of the new up and coming artists from the Boston area
