Rory Block’s “Ain’t Nobody Worried” celebrates the great women of song with 10 covers and one original. Block opens with “I’ll Take You There” originally a crossover gospel song now with a rhythm track. The next song is Gladys Knight and The Pips “Midnight Train to Georgia”.
Other covers include “My Guy” from Mary Wells; “Fast Car” from Tracy Chapman; “Cried Like a Baby” from KoKo Taylor; and “Love Has No Pride” from Bonnie Raitt.
The much requested “Lovin’ Whiskey” is an original from early in Block’s career. Other covers include Martha and The Vandellas “Dancing in The Streets”; Carole King’s “You’ve Got a Friend”; and Elizabeth Cotton’s “Freight Train”.
