Johnny “V” Vernazza, a San Francisco native, immersed himself in the vibrant 1960s music scene, playing guitar and bass in various bands. He gained prominence with the gospel group Gideon and Power and later collaborated with blues legends and Elvin Bishop, contributing to the defining Southern rock sound with hits like “Fooled Around and Fell in Love.”
