Annika Chambers and Paul DesLauriers are the lovers featured here. DesLauriers is the winner of many Maple Blues Awards and 2-time winner of the MB “Entertainer of the Year”. Annika is a 2-time winner of the Blues Music Award for Soul Blues Artist of the Year. Together they produced this album featuring guitarist, mandolinist and vocalist DesLauriers with bassists Chris Peet, Gary Davenport, and Alec McElcheran. Peet is also the primary drummer with help from Bernard DesLauriers.
The keyboardist is Barry Seelen and backing vocalist Kim Richardson. Covers include songs from Joe South “Wak A Mile in My Shoes”, George Harrison “Isn’t It A Pity”, Little Willie John “Need Your Love So Bad”, and the Mountain classic “Mississippi Queen”. You can hear the Mavis Staples Influence
