Indie Blues around Atlanta – HAPPY Labor Day


I have some of those shows I didn’t know for the weekly report and since I will be mostly away from the computer, I am including blues for Labor Day!

Friday

Houserocker Johnson and the Shadows are at Blind Willie’s. The Josh Garrett Band is at Darwin’s and Little G Weevil and Memphis to the Bone play Madlife Stage and Studios in Woodstock. Beverly “Guitar” Watkins plays Stagga’ Lee’s Goodtime Emporium. Leonard Blush is at Moonshadow Tavern. Rod Hamdallah visits Avondale Towne Cinema. Chequered Blue is at St. Angelo’s Pizza and Albert White is at Tunes by the Tracks in Stone Mountain Village. The Wasted Potential Brass Band is at Northside Tavern.

Saturday

The Cody Matlock Band is at Darwin’s. The Nick Moss Band visits Blind Willie’s and The Barry Richman Band plays at El Don in Alpharetta. Northside Tavern hosts Randy Chapman’s Birthday Bash.

Sunday
Swami Gone Bananas is at Darwin’s. A Frank Hamilton School Student Group Performance takes place at 1 pm at the AJC Decatur Book Festival. Mike Farris appears at Eddie’s Attic in Decatur. Uncle Sugar is at Northside Tavern.

Monday

WRFG’s Labor Day Blues BBQ takes place at Park Tavern, featuring the Nick Moss Band and Honoring Ellyn Webb and Northside Tavern, with Tribute, a Celebration of the Allman Brothers Band, The Breeze Kings All Star Revue, and Mudcat and the Northside Mentors w/ the Atlanta Horns.. Mike Watason hosts the jam at Loco’s in Alpharetta and Lola is the host for the jam at Northside Tavern.
